More men will be given the option of taking finasteride (Proscar) to PREVENT prostate cancer.

Years ago, a large NIH study showed finasteride reduces the absolute risk of prostate cancer by about 6% in men 55 and older...or one less case of prostate cancer for every 16 men treated.

But this didn't catch on since finasteride was said to increase the risk of aggressive tumors. Now this turns out NOT to be true.
